Fractionated CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing
Skin rejuvenation with cosmetic lasers can be one of your greatest tools in the battle against aging. Let’s look at a few of the signs of aging that can make us appear older than we feel:
- Fine Lines and Wrinkles– Perhaps the biggest sign of aging, fine lines and wrinkles can be caused by environmental factors, lifestyle choices such as smoking, sun exposure or even a genetic predisposition.
- Scarring – The acne of days gone by can leave skin pocked or deeply scarred. The scars can last a lifetime and become a source of displeasure with one’s appearance.
- Rough and / or Uneven Texture – Remember the taut skin and even tone of your youth? The layers of skin can degrade due to many reasons, including the passing of time.
So what’s in your arsenal in the battle against aging? Do you have the right tools on your side? The Pixel Perfect treatment can help to improve your appearance by addressing all of these concerns specifically one by one or as part of a combination therapy. The Pixel Perfect treatment utilizes a superior technology in which therapeutic laser energy passes through a specially designed lens that allows only a tiny portion to penetrate the skin. These micro-injuries are where the magic– and healing – process takes place. The majority of your skin is left untouched creating a desirable outcome, but with a reduced down time.
Pixel Perfect is skin resurfacing the way it should be.
Pixel Perfect works by creating thousands of microscopic perforations while leaving the surrounding tissue intact. This allows for very rapid healing and improving your complexion.
In more detail, the Pixel laser light passes through patented optics to penetrate the skin with tiny thermal channels, only as deep as a few sheets of paper. These micro-injury sites begin healing and, as collagen remodels, scars begin to fade, texture start to improve and your skin’s inner radiance begins to shine.
What makes CosmeticGyn Center unique?
Doctor Huertas combines Pixel Perfect Resurfacing and PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy) to enhance results.
PRP is a natural product created from your own body. A small amount of blood is drawn from you and placed in a sterile tube that is spun down in a centrifuge to separate the different components of the blood. Red and white blood cells are divided from the platelets and the plasma. This plasma now contains a higher than normal number of platelets and is called Platelet-Rich Plasma, or PRP.
WHY PLATELETS REJUVENATE SKIN?
Platelets are the cells in the blood that help tissue to heal and grow new cells. The PRP acts as to naturally smooth and tighten the skin. In this way, PRP softens wrinkles and creating smoother skin texture and tone.
What can I expect during my laser skincare pixel PERFECT treatment?
Fractionated Co2 Pixel Laser Resurfacing appointments are usually 30-45 minutes. The procedure itself takes about 30 minutes or more depending on the area being treated. When you arrive, a topical anesthetic will be applied to help alleviate any discomfort. Be sure to alert us if you have any allergy or sensitivity to topical anesthetics. During the treatment the pixel laser hand-piece will gently glide across the treatment area. You may feel a prickling sensation and hear the beeping sound of the laser.
Will the pixel PERFECT treatment be uncomfortable?
Fractionated Co2 Pixel Laser Resurfacing treatment is tolerated well by most compared to other resurfacing lasers. The magnitude of the sensation by the procedure varies from person to person, usually reported as a prickling sensation or a sensation of heat. In general, the procedure can feel similar to a sunburn. The perception of a sunburn is likely to continue after the treatment. These symptoms are a normal part of the healing process and should improve quickly.
What can I expect after my treatment?
After the procedure there will be some redness and sunburn sensation for a few days with possibly some mild swelling. The pixel pattern diminishes but will be slightly visible until flaking begins, during this time the treatment area is kept moist as directed in the post care instruction. By the third day, the redness will be mostly gone and by the fourth day the skin will begin to flake as new skin replaces the dead tissue. By the 5th or 6th day, the skin will be smooth and look much healthier. The collagen remodeling occurs over several months so there will be progressive improvement in wrinkling and scars. Although it is preferable to avoid sun exposure for a couple of weeks before and after any laser procedure, you can still have treatments in the summer by following a few simple precautions: avoid direct sunlight especially during midday, wear a hat, and conscientiously apply a good zinc-or-titanium-based sunblock, of at least SPF 30 several times throughout the day.
